shutterstock medical robotics xElmhurst, IL (September 2022) — Adams Magnetic Products, LLC. Senior Applications Engineer, Mike Devine, shared insights and expertise earned over his 30 year career in magnetic engineering and manufacturing with attendees of the Association for Advancing Automation’s  (A3) webinar, How Automation Is Advancing Healthcare”, on Thursday, September 15.

The free webinar highlighted the myriad ways automation is improving healthcare, both in and out of the operating room. The discussion covered ways the collaboration between humans and robots have helped healthcare professionals become more accurate and effective as well as how surgical robots are increasing precision and decreasing the amount of time patients spend on the operating table, how robotics in lab automation and drug discovery are advancing the healthcare industry, and more.

Over the course of his career, including in his role with Adams Magnetic Products, an industry leader in magnetic engineering and manufacturing, Devine has designed magnets for use below ground, in outer space, and everywhere in between, including in the operating room. His magnetic solutions can be found in everything from the rovers on Mars and Harley Davidson motorcycles to lifesaving medical products.

Says Devine, “Magnetic applications play an important role in the automation of the healthcare industry.  They support sensors that enable AI, motorize and guide robotics and more.”
