Elmhurst, IL (January 2024) – Adams Magnetic Products, LLC is pleased to announce that industry expert Tim Martin has joined the company as an Applications Engineer.
Reporting directly to Director of Technology, Mike Devine, Martin will collaborate with the Fabrication, Sales, and Quality Assurance teams to develop and recommend effective, comprehensive, and competitive magnetic solutions for Adams’ clients. Martin will also work with outside suppliers to develop new components. In addition, Martin will provide technical support and training to sales representatives and customers.
Martin comes to Adams from his most recent role as a Product Specialist at Dexter Magnetic Technologies, where he helped drive business growth by identifying and coordinating marketing leads, recommending appropriate products, and managing inventory levels. Martin was promoted to this role from his position as Manufacturing Engineer, tasked with creating drawings and standards work for assembly and machining operations, supporting new product development, providing internal and external technical support, conducting safety audits, and more. His deep expertise includes not only proficiency in lean six sigma methodologies but also a mastery of value stream mapping, enabling him to successfully optimize processes and drive organizational efficiency.
“Tim has extensive experience with manufacturing tools and methodologies in a wide range of industries,” says Devine. “He is an expert in the permanent magnet industry and a proven leader with a track record of making a meaningful impact. I know he’ll be a growth driver for Adams.”
Martin holds a Master of Business Administration, Marketing and Management degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago College of Business Administration and both Master and Bachelor of Science, Industrial and Systems Engineering degrees from Northern Illinois University.
Despite his extensive experience and commitment, Martin leads a full and balanced life outside of the magnet industry, including creating podcasts and social media content supporting mental health and the resilient mindset needed for personal and professional improvement and success. A champion of physical fitness as well as mental health, Martin manages and plays on a championship amateur league baseball team and practices weightlifting, yoga, and swimming and provides support and counseling to other athletes. In keeping with his commitment to helping others, he also regularly volunteers with Mobile Pack’s Feed My Starving Children.
