Elmhurst, IL (October 2023) —Adams Magnetic Products, LLC. is pleased to announce the promotion of Senior Applications Engineer, Mike Devine, to the role of Director of Technology, effective immediately. Devine will report directly to General Manager, John Maisch.
As Director of Technology, Devine is tasked with positioning Adams as the go-to provider of higher-tech products and solutions and value-added assemblies. He’ll also be responsible for providing technical foundation and oversight for the company, identifying new business opportunities, expanding and developing Adams’ talent pool, managing vendor partnerships, and more.

Devine has been a valued member of the Adams Magnetic Products, LLC. team since 2017, designing thousands of magnet solutions including for the rovers on Mars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and several lifesaving medical products. He has been part of the magnetics industry for more than 30 years, including serving as an officer for The Association for Advancing Automation’s (A3) Permanent Magnet Division, the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) Magnet Society. Devine has published over 20 technical papers, co-authored a US Patent and presented at numerous technical conferences in the magnetics industry.
Prior to joining Adams, Devine served as Senior Applications Engineer at Dexter Magnetic Technologies, where he interacted with customers from aerospace, defense, petrochemical, medical, semiconductor, research universities and government facilities regarding magnetic design. Devine holds an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, IA, and a B.S. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He is a certified project management professional and is proficient in several magnetic modeling software programs.
