Custom Magnets, Magnetic Assemblies

Our in-house magnet manufacturing machine shop has capabilities for cutting, surface grinding, OD grinding, and ID grinding most magnet materials to print specifications. We also work with Wire EDM facilities for cutting complex magnet shapes out of raw materials.

As custom magnet suppliers, we have the capabilities to produce magnets of virtually any shape and size to customer specifications. 

And we can provide precision-machined metal (and other) components to create custom magnet assemblies. Additionally, our state-of-the-art testing apparatus and fully equipped testing lab verify the high quality of all the magnets we produce.

Design Assistance

Material choice is important, but an optimized design is just as significant. We will offer detailed recommendations for your particular application based on our years of experience and technical expertise. Factors including operating temperature, demagnetizing effects, environmental characteristics, and available space all need to be considered.

Adams fabricates flexible magnets to custom widths, thicknesses, and lengths, available either plain or with a range of adhesive options, including foam, rubber, acrylic, and double-faced. We also offer cutting, scoring, die cutting, and custom magnetization.

Our History

A pioneer in permanent magnet fabrication, Leo Weinstein opened the doors of the Adams Magnetic Products Chicago facility in 1950, naming it Adams for more prominent placement in the phone book. 

Over the next 70 years, Adams would become a leading custom magnet supplier, working with more than 100,000 customers, including many Fortune 500 companies. This growth was the result of a dedication to our customers’ needs and a commitment to innovation, including an expansion into flexible magnetic products in the 1960s and ’70s, the fabrication of alnico and rare earth magnets and complex custom-engineered assemblies in the 1980s, further establishing us as one of the leading magnet suppliers in the USA; a foray into the soft ferrite market in the 1990s, the addition of a dedicated office in Beijing, China, in 2007, and the introduction of a wide-format magnet sheet in the 2010s, among countless other strategic – and successful – decisions.
