This tool calculates magnetic field strength measured in gauss, on the centerline of a
disc magnet or
ring magnet
magnetized through its thickness, at a distance of X from the surface of the magnet.
These calculations are only appropriate for "square loop" or "straight line" magnetic materials such
as
ceramic magnets,
neodymium magnets and
samarium cobalt magnets.
They should not be used for alnico materials.
