Business Development Manager

Schedule: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Job Summary

We are seeking an accomplished and innovative Business Development Manager to accelerate sales growth within our Engineered Products (EP) group. This strategic role is designed for a results-driven leader who excels in creating and executing dynamic sales initiatives, cultivating key relationships, and unlocking new market opportunities. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering teams to deliver tailored solutions that drive both revenue and customer success.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Prospect & Capture New Business: Identify, engage, and win targeted accounts to drive new revenue streams.
  • Expand Existing Relationships: Leverage opportunities within current accounts—focusing on maximizing share-of-wallet (SOW) for EP, while also supporting other product line sales.
  • Strategic Sales Planning: Develop robust sales strategies, set aggressive yet attainable targets, and deliver accurate forecasts to support business objectives.
  • Collaborative Execution: Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Engineering) to design innovative solutions that meet customer needs and exceed market expectations.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize CRM tools (primarily HubSpot) to monitor performance, track key metrics, and refine sales tactics based on actionable insights.
  • Leadership in Partnership: Work closely with the Director of Business Development (DBD) to align initiatives and ensure consistent execution across the organization.

  • Operate with significant autonomy while adhering to established procedures, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
  • Report directly to senior leadership and work in tandem with the DBD to drive strategic initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a Technical Field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • 5-10 years of experience in technical sales, preferably with custom-engineered product solutions in industrial markets.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and capturing new business in niche, competitive environments.
  • Strong customer service mindset with an ability to translate technical details into compelling business solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in utilizing sales analytics and CRM platforms (especially HubSpot) to inform strategy.
  • Experience with permanent magnets is preferred but not required.

Additional Information/Special Requirements

  • Travel Requirement: This role involves 25-35% travel to engage directly with customers and support new business development initiatives.
