NEW! Optilloy™ Optimized Alloy Powder

Optilloy™ material was developed to bridge the gap in performance between the Super-MSS™ Sendust material and the Hi-Flux material. Optilloy™ has similar DC saturation performance to Hi-Flux, yet has core losses that are similar to Super-MSS™ Sendust. Optilloy™ will be offered in six permeabilities: 14, 26, 60, 75, 90 and 125. Contact us for more information.

Super-MSS™

Super-MSS™ utilizes an iron-silicon aluminum alloy powder which has high resistivity and low magnetostriction. A 10,000 Gauss saturation level provides high energy storage at a lower total loss compared with iron powder or gapped ferrites, and at lower cost than MPP.

MPP

Molybdenum Permalloy Powder (MPP) cores provide the maximum Q and lowest core losses of all commonly available powder core toroids. MPP is the most stable core with respect to temperature and AC Flux. It has the widest range of permeabilities and is considered the premium material for direct current output inductors of Switched Mode Power Supplies.

Hi-Flux™

HI-FLUX™ (HF) cores are a 50% Nickel – 50% Iron distributed gapped powder

core. HF has up to 15,000 Gauss saturation flux density and core losses significantly lower than iron powder cores. When used in applications with high DC current, HF cores can provide a reduction in inductor size as well as total cost.

Iron/Silicon

The 6.5 wt% Iron-Silicon material offers significant advantages, displaying excellent soft magnetic properties such as high saturation magnetization, near zero magnetostriction and higher resistivity.

An Iron/Silicon powder core has a typical 15,000 Gauss saturation flux density and core losses significantly lower than iron powder cores at high frequencies.

In addition to ring cores, a selection of standard size E cores and Block cores is available along with the ability to produce custom dimensions and other geometries.

MAPC Company Overview

The Arnold Powder Core Division was acquired from Arnold Magnetics Technologies by Micrometals Incorporated of Anaheim, California in January of 2010. Arnold's extensive range of MPP (molypermalloy powder), SUPER-MSS™ (sendust), HI-FLUX™ (50/50 nickel iron), Iron/Silicon and

other alloy based powder cores are manufactured in large quantities with competitive pricing and outstanding quality in Arnold's Shenzhen, China factory. MAPC can supply a wide range of standard toroid O.D. sizes, from 0.14 inch (3.6 mm) to 5.218 inch (133 mm), and is also capable of providing non-standard, customer specified physical dimensions.
