Adams Offers New VAC Core Sample Kit

Vacuumschmelze (VAC) has released an updated version of its Core Sample Kit which includes a selection of standard nanocrystalline VITROPERM toroidal tape-wound cores for EMC applications. The Kit contains 55 cores in various types and sizes up to 45 mm, an excellent range for laboratory experimentation and EMC developers. The cores represent graduated permeability ranges from μ 18,000 to over μ 100,000, an ideal selection for filter development with operating currents up to approx 80 A; switched-mode power supplies, uninterrupted power supplies, welding systems, frequency converters, solar inverters, Etc.

Engineers find that common mode chokes designed with VAC’s VITROPERM nanocrystalline cores demonstrate superior broadband attenuation properties even at high operating temperatures of up to 150 degrees Celsius. Also, highly compact CMC designs with fewer turns and excellent high-frequency characteristics can be achieved thanks to the combination of high permeability (over μ 100,000) and high saturation flux density (1.2 T).
