Neodymium discs with adhesive are commonly used in packaging, box closure, display and door latch applications. Adams stocks two adhesive choices:
Thick Foam Adhesive
3M 4945 .030” thick foam adhesive provides high strength with the capability of conforming to the irregularities of rigid substrates, even when there might be slight mismatch.
Thin Film Adhesive
TESA 4970 thin film adhesive is a modified acrylic adhesive with an excellent combination of a high initial tack and adhesion level and thin profile. This adhesive is approximately 1/2 the thickness of the foam adhesive.
Features include:
- Adams adhesive-backed neodymium magnets are nickel plated to protect them from corrosion.
- Adams adhesive-backed neodymium magnets are supplied in grade 3512, with BHmax of 33-36. Other grades can be special ordered upon request.
- Maximum operating temperature of our adhesive-backed neodymium magnets
is 176° F.
- Adams adhesive-backed neodymium magnets are magnetized conventionally through the thickness. In order to achieve perfect alignment with magnet-to-magnet applications, you will need to match magnets with adhesive on the north side of the magnet to magnets with adhesive on the south side of the magnet.
