Quality materials
High quality materials are the basis of every successful product. Adams
works only with the world's best raw materials suppliers. We focus on
uniform properties and low variation, so that performance is predictably
reliable. We keep stock of all magnet materials in a variety of grades,
shapes and sizes. Many of these are finished and can be ordered from stock
as catalog items. Others are kept in raw form and machined to specific

Rare Earth magnets
Rare-earth magnets are strong permanent magnets made from alloys of rare
earth elements. Developed in the 1970s and 80s, rare-earth magnets are
the strongest type of permanent magnets made, substantially stronger than
ceramic or alnico magnets. There are two types or rare earth magnets:
neodymium magnets
and samarium-cobalt
magnets magnets. Rare earth magnets are extremely brittle. Neodymium
magnets are also vulnerable to corrosion, so they are usually plated or
coated to protect them from breaking and chipping.
Design expertise
Many factors must be considered when choosing a permanent magnet material
for your application. We can make detailed recommendations for your particular
application based on our years of experience and technical expertise.
Factors including operating temperature, demagnetizing effects, environmental
characteristics and available space all need to be considered. One important
thought is that while material choice is important, an optimized design
